Abu
Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) is a master developer of
ports and industrial zones established in March 2006. As
part of the restructuring of the commercial ports sector
in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ADPC was given control and
regulatory enforcement power over all non-oil commercial
ports. ADPC's assets include the main ports of Mina
Zayed and Musaffah Port along with Musaffah Channel. In
addition ADPC's portfolio includes six ports in the
Western Region as far as Al Sila adjacent to the UAE/Saudi
border. ADPC is developing the new Khalifa Port, located
at Taweelah midway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Khalifa
Port forms an integral part of the Khalifa Industrial
Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and together will actively
contribute to the diversification of the emirates
economic development. As a major maritime facility,
Khalifa Port scheduled to open in Q4 2012 will have the
first semi-automated container terminal in the region.
It will also be the region's first port with direct rail
access, in co-operation with Etihad Rail. ADPC is
committed to sustainable developments and projects that
will positively contribute to the non-oil GDP of Abu
Dhabi. ADPC is geared to serve the nation and its
people. |
