Tom is a Belgian citizen and has been since 2008 working in Dubai, UAE as the Managing Director for Al Futtaim Logistics, which is the Logistics Services Provider company within Al Futtaim group. This UAE based private conglomerate and one of Middle East's foremost business houses is structured into seven operational divisions - Automotive, Engineering, Electronics & Technology, Retail, Financial Services, General Services, Real Estate and Joint Ventures.

Today Al-Futtaim operates through more than 65 companies in 12 countries in sectors as diverse as commerce, industry and services.

 Al Futtaim Logistics is well recognised by the logistics sector and wider business community as one of the leading logistics service providers in the region. In the past year, Al Futtaim Logistics received amazing recognition for their efforts as they were awarded the 3PL Service Provider of the Year 2010 Award during the Supply Chain Transport Awards (SCATA) in Dubai. As well Tom was recognized with the Log.ME Award for Supply Chain Manager of the Year 2010”

 In his 19 years of work experience; Tom acquired a solid combination of Sales, Operations management, and Consulting skills with globally recognized players.

 The major focus of Tom's career has been on the Supply Chain side of companies, especially in Order fulfilment and Supply Chain Execution.  

Tom's first main exposure in this field was with a true leader in its market, namely Hilti Corporation, where he held different roles in Sales mgmt and evolved towards Supply Chain Mgmt as a Management Team member for Hilti Benelux.

From then on, Tom developed his skills further in the area of Logistics Services where he acquired deep knowledge on the market players, customer segments and business processes, and this while working in CEO positions with companies like UK based ALS Freight Management Group, Belgium based Ahlers Logistics and as a Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting and Cap Gemini.  

This combination of diverse and intense experiences enabled Tom in developing an overall and profound knowledge of both the Logistics Service provider business and Corporate Supply Chain as a whole.
